Michael Buscher, CGO

Michael Buscher is the Chief Growth Officer of NuWave Solutions.  In this capacity, Mr. Buscher is responsible for creating new pathways to growth by optimizing resources, maximizing the impact of investment, and monitoring future trends while exceeding the needs of our current customers in the intelligence community, defense, and the private sectors.  He has held this position since June 2020.

Prior to this position, Mr. Buscher held a variety of senior leadership roles in the private sector to include Vice President at Peraton, Vice President & Director of the National Intelligence Center at Huntington Ingalls Industries as well as Chief Executive Officer at Vanguard Defense Industries which pioneered the use of unmanned technology for law enforcement and the commercial sector.  He holds multiple patents in aerospace and unmanned technology and was the inventor of the ShadowHawk™ Unmanned Aerial System.

Buscher also brings to this position over 30 years of distinguished government service.  This service includes a military career as both an enlisted and commissioned officer in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves where he has held numerous leadership positions within the U.S. Special Operations Command in the Middle East, Africa, Central America, and Europe.

In addition to Mr. Buscher’s decorated military duty, he served nearly ten years as a Senior Operations Officer in the Central Intelligence Agency.  In this capacity, Mr. Buscher represented his organization on two separate Joint Terrorism Task Forces, Chaired the Gulf Coast Anti-Terrorism Taskforce, briefed senior policymakers, and held significant leadership roles domestically, as well as in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Eastern Europe.

Mr. Buscher is an active member of the U.S. State Department Overseas Security Advisory Council, Energy Security Council, National Defense Industrial Association, and the Intelligence and National Security Alliance.  Mr. Buscher is also a Member of the Harvard National Security and Law Association where he lectures on National Security and Foreign Policy issues.  Mr. Buscher also volunteers time on the National Executive Committee of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

A native of Washington State, Buscher earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Washington and is a Senior Fellow of at New Westminster College in British Columbia, Canada.  Mr. Buscher is married and has three children ages 32, 23, and 14.
